The design that makes the chair fold up so compactly means there is not a solid bar running front to back along each side as there would be in a folding wheel chair. What is not stated in description but clearly stated in the instructions that came with the chair is that it is not intended/suitable for sliding transfers. 1 but not for sliding transfers As other reviewers have stated, sturdy, compact, good value (especially at the discounted Amazon price of $120 I paid). I caught it, but after that learned to stay well back in the chair for safety's sake. The first time I tried that in this chair it came up on the front wheels and started to fall forward. Typically, if I want to reach for an item on the floor I lock the wheels for stability, and reach. As far as I'm concerned that makes them unusable. This is also really and truly a lightweight chair.which means that if you scoot too far forward in the chair you can tip it over. That means that they're either sticking out, getting in the way of your transfer, or they're in the up position so that you can't sit in the chair. These leg rests stay right in front, and can only be moved up into the seating area. Most wheelchair leg rests swing to the right or left side of the chair, well out of the way. I think it's only suitable for someone who doesn't plan to stand/pivot/transfer into and out of the chair, or someone who doesn't need leg rests. It's very comfortable, as lightweight as advertised, and it does indeed fold into a fairly small bag.HOWEVER. 5 Dangerous if you stand/transfer I have a multi-level home, so purchased this wheelchair to stay on the top floor instead of dragging my regular chair up and down stairs. Definitely very good for storing in small places. We did have an airport assistant to wheel me around though. On the airport shuttle it was easy to load & unload & takes up so little room. We took it by plane to Atlanta, gate checked it with no problems, it was so nice to use this instead of the airport wheelchairs which I don't like. It is easy to fold & unfold, light & comfortable to ride in.I bought it to keep in the USA for when I visit my daughter. 4 great little wheelchair If you are looking for a very lightweight wheelchair then this is for you. This is a great value for the money! The only thing it needs is a pocket on the back like their other models but I brought a bag along. Also, the bag is a great addition and durable as well. Setup and tear down is a snap one you've done it quite a few times. This chair endured many miles around and can handle bumpy uneven roads. I took this to Dubai from the states and pushed my pregnant wife around in it to many different sites as well as a few of their huge malls. This a a great chair if you are traveling a lot. 1 This is a great light weight and durable chair. But we need the lighter chair with movable arms for use with a slide board with the car. There is no adjustment of the legs and alignment all welded as mentioned.) We have Drive units (walkers, etc) and this by far was not like the others. (FYI, unit came boxed without any damage to the box. Will try that route and adjust the tone of the review if a replacement is correct. Maybe we just got a bad QA item and it simply needs to be returned and replaced. Because the handles are fold-able, you cannot put enough pressure on them (they give) to prevent the chair from turning. As a result, when someone is sitting in it, it pulls hard (depending on whether pushing or pulling as to which direction it pulls hard on). It rocks on the left front and back right. Cheaply made: welded and out of alignment from the start The chair only sits on the right front and back left wheel.
